Choupetik is the alias of Sofía Zambrano Álvarez, a Venezuelan DJ, producer, and culture worker living and working in Paris. Her work blends merengue, guaracha, and reggaeton with classic hard techno, aiming to conjure a sentimental and nostalgic escape on the dancefloor for Latinx diaspora in Europe and beyond. She has performed at nightclubs across Europe such as Sala Vol (Barcelona), SNAP festival (Brussels), Boum Marseille and La Machine du Moulin Rouge (Paris).
As co-founder of queer Latinx party series Misantropical alongside Rara Ma Rabbia — dubbed “one of the best parties in France” by Chismotek. They have curated sets for Rinse France and at clubs across Paris featuring referents in the Latin Club scene such as Cardopusher, MJ Nebreda, and DJ Guapis.
